Description
Lissa (Vis) is a small island, so the port is easily reachable. It is the inhabited island most distant from the mainland of the whole of Croatia. It is about 45 km away from the coast, and extends for 8 km in width for 17 km in length. For years, it has been "isolated" from the tourist circuit, since it has been used as a military base. It can be reached in two hours by ferry from Porto Galileo. You can moor your own boat in the Kut bay (30 berths) or in the city harbor (about 50 berths). The sea around the Vis area is full of islets,. Careful, there are dry and rocks (particularly in the South East). All the references and signal are well marked, though while sailing, you must pay much attention.
